Kenya also participated in the Africa cup of nations for the first time ever, losing once to hosts Cameroon and drawing with Mali and Togo. Read the report here

 

Kenya Breweries FC (now Tusker FC) which had been formed in 1970, went on to win their maiden title in 1972. Breweries had in their ranks a galaxy of stars such as Samson Odore who was recruited from Gor Mahia. From Abaluhya they recruited John Nyawanga and Livingstone Madegwa.
