AFC Leopards are the new GOtv Shield champions after edging out defending champions and rivals Gor Mahia 1-0 in the final at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday. Gor Mahia had won the trophy for the past two years.
Leopards had not beaten Kogalo since 2011. Peter Opiyo’s second half goal gave Ingwe ended the drought and with it a Ksh2million cheque while Gor had to make do with second place and Kshs750,000.

The all important goal came on 53 minutes: Opiyo found the back of the net from a Noah Wafula low cross, cutting behind the defenders, from the left flank after the latter had beat his marker Musa Moham med.
