AFC pip Sofapaka

AFC Leopards climbed from fifth to third spot with 27 points after edging  Sofapaka FC with a solitary goal in a well attended and entertaining Kenya Premier League(KPL) match staged at the 60,000 seater Moi International Sports centre in Nairobi.

The all important goal t was scored Peter Opiyo in the 58th minute after receiving a nice pass from the edge of the box from man of the match Paul Were to beat Sofapaka Keeper Duncan Ochieng.

Sofapaka put up a strong case for their survival with Hillary Echessa failing to equalize in the 70th minute when scoring appeared the easiest task in the pitch with Leopards fans holding their breath.

In the 25th minute, Leopards Noah Wafula went close to scoring but his rasping shot from the edge of the box went few inches wide with Sofapaka custodian well beaten.

Coach Luc Eymel was delighted with his third consecutive victory

Coach David Ouma Of Sofapaka felt his side was just unlucky after creating four clear chances that went to waste.
