1966 Africa boxing championship medalists

1966 marked the second time that newly independent Kenya participated in the Africa boxing championships. The tournament was held in Lagos Nigeria

As in 1964, Philip Waruinge was the only Kenyan to bag a gold medal. This time No other Kenyan reached the final.

Kenya finished in fifth position behind Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria. It was a drop off from 1964 when newly independent Kenya finished in fourth position.
