The 2003 All Africa games were held in Abuja Nigeria. Kenya won one gold medal via Light Flyweight Suleiman Bilali and two bronze medals via middleweight Daniel Shisia and Bantamweight David Munyasia. In the finals, Bilali beat Endalkachew Kebede of Ethiopia 20-7. Bilali would go on to retain the light flyweight title at the 2007 All Africa games. In the semi-finals he had oupointed Joseph Jermia of Namibia. In the quarter-Finals he beat Algerian Hamoud Boubaovat.
