The 2002 Commonwealth Games were held in Manchester England. It was Kenya’s worst performance ever in the boxing ring. Not only did Kenya fail to win any medals, but no Kenyan won a single bout

Bernard Ngumba: Flyweight Round 1: Beat Raphael Lare of Papua New Guindea 18-16 Round 2: Lost to Anurudha Rathnayake of Sri Lanka (referee stopped contest)  Suleiman Bilali: Light Flyweight Round 2: Lost to Mohamed Ali Qamar of India (referee stopped contest)  David Munyasia: Bantamweight Round 2: Lost to Mark Moran of England 22-18  Absalom Okoth: Welterweight Round 2: Lost to Colin McNeil of Scotland McNeil won 108-99 on a countback after a 30-30 draw on points.
