Kenya Breweries wins second successive title

Having won the league title in 1978, Kenya Breweries emerged tops yet again in 1978. Kenya Breweries FC, boasted a star stugadded squad that included international players like Ben Waga, Binzi Mwakolo, Elly Adero, Peter Odera, John Nyawanga, Simon Gundi, Morris Oloo, Ernest Hassan

Emergence of Youthful Stars

The year 1978 saw the emergence of a cadre of youthful players who would later make waves at both club level and national level. Among these was a 16 year old by the name of Nahashon Oluoch “Lule” who turned out for Luo Stars. Playing alongside the legendary William Ouma “Chege” , the schoolboy wonderboy emerged as one of the stars of the 1978 season, scoring several goals for Luo Stars. Wilberforce Mulamba, starred for Maragoli FC , scoring several goals while Joe Masiga, who had finished his A Levels at Nairobi school, starred for Abaluhya FC, scoring 12 goals.
