Chepseba and Caleb Ndiku in flying start


Nixon Chepseba and Caleb Ndiku started their 2014 seasons in sensational form at the IAAF Indoor Permit meeting in Karlsruhe, Germany, on Saturday.

Chepseba who has shown a lot of promise but has yet to win a world championship medal appears keen to make amends. In the 1500m, took the lead from Germany’s Homiyu Tesfaye halfway through the race and carried on in front to the tape for a world-leading 3:37.02.

Caleb Ndiku, who won the men’s 3000m in a quick 7:36.27, the second fastest time of the year.

At the same meeting, Genzebe Dibaba younger sister to the legendary Tirunesh Dibaba came out of her elder sister’s shadow when she smashed the women’s world indoor 1500m record * by more than three seconds with a run of 3:55.17
