AFC opened their 2013 GOTV shield campaign by overwhelming Wazee wa Kazi, a team comprising retired former internationals by a score of 5-0. Until the 24th minute, it looked like Wazee were going to give Leopards a tough time. However the dam broke in the 24th minute when Mike Baraza found the back of the net. From that point on Wazee had no answer as Allan Wanga, Oscar Kadenge and Peter Opiyo scored.
