Leopards blank Mathare

AFC Leopards continued their resurgence with a convincing 2-0 win over Mathare United. The match was played at Leopards’s second home, Mumias.

Rwandese defender Jonas Nahimana opened the scoring with a well taken header in the 18th minute. Martin Imbalambala notched the second goal in the 75th minute.

Leopards dominated the early exchanges. As early as the first minute, Noah Wafula ran menacingly down the flank and squared to Allan Wanga who fluffed the chance.

Mathare came back into the game in the second half with Francis Ouma and Gabriel Nduro looking dangerous. The second goal came via the only chance Leopards created in the second half.

It was a well attended match with Ksh 1 million being raised from the gates.
