AFC fall to Tusker

AFC Leopards failed to break their 15 year jinx of perennially failing to beat Tusker, losing 2-1 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Jesse Were put Tusker ahead with a screamer of a shot in the fourth minute. Were’s fierce shot crashed onto the roof of the cross bar to bounce in, leaving Martin Musalia, a January signing from Mathare United, well-beaten.

As Tusker pressed on, intent on widening the lead, Leopards made a swift move from the centre cycle, with centre-forward Allan Wanga capitalizing on Tusker’s poor defence  to easily slot home, beating Samuel Odhiambo in Tusker’s goal.

The brewers, enjoying the lion’s share of ball possession, nevertheless, could not make the most out of it as the end result in the final third was nowhere near precision.

Andrew Tololowa scored the winner to give Tusker a  2-1 win
