Kenya beat Uganda 12-0 in the return leg of the Elgon cup played on Saturday. Despite the win, Kenya lost the Elgon cup to Uganda on a 17-19 aggregate loss.
Kenya dominated territory and possesion in the first half but could not make a breakthrough. Youthful flyhalf Eden Agero saw two penalty attempts said wide while the Ugandan defend held the Kenyans back. Halftime score was 0-0.
In the second half extended pressure by the Kenyans yielded two tries. The first came when Joel Nganga made a 20m run before offloading to winger Vincent Mose who was tackled. On recycling, Tony Onyango scored. The second try came via Lawrence Buyachi. Eden Agero converted.
All in all , Uganda deserved the Elgon cup title. They clearly wanted it more as evidenced by the serious preparations they took.
