Kenya defeated Zambia 31-16 on Saturday in the second leg of their Victoria Cup match at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa (RFUEA) grounds in Nairobi.

The win was Kenya’s fourth against Zambia in five Test matches since their first meeting in 1976.

This was also the first Victoria Cup match hosted by Kenya since the tournament took a break in 2012.

The Kenya Simbas outscored their opponents by four tries to one to seal the double against them following a 43-23 victory at the Nkana West Rugby Club in Kitwe last month.

Captain Curtis Lilako, Oscar Simiyu, Elkeans Musonye and Brian Amaitsa dotted down while full-back Isaac Njoroge kicked 11 points for the hosts.

Edward Mukasa crossed the whitewash for the visitors with Laston Mukosa successfully converting Mukasa’s try and adding three penalties.

Kenya led 18-13 at the break courtesy of tries from Lilako and Musonye with Njoroge adding nine points. The Zambians replied through Mukasa’s try and eight points from the boot of Mukosa.
