Marshall Mulwa is statistically the most succesful coach Harambee stars ever won. Under him, Kenya won the CECAFA cup 3 times between 1981 and 1983
During the 1982 CECAFA cup final, Kenya captain Mahmoud Abbas led team-mates to walk off the field protesting biased refeering. It took the efforts of cabinet minister Paul Ngei (on his left) to get Abbas back on the field. Abbas went on to put on a penalty saving exhibition.
When Kenya won the CECAFA cup 3 times in a row, the four players above were the key performers : Josphat Murila, Bobby Ogolla, Ambrose Ayoyi and Wilberforce Mulamba
