Kenya had participated in this tournament four times previously and finished 4th, 5th, 4th and and 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya&#8217;s gold medals were won by Saudi Odanga, George Findo, Athman Abdrulrahmani and Ali Athumani. David Wacheru who replaced Stephen Muchoki in the squad, won silver. Muchoki had turned professional a year earlier much to the dismay of Kenya boxing fans.
