20 year old Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon, a former world junior cross country champion and former world junior champion, is living up to the promise she showed as a youth. On Tuesday she won a thrilling women\u2019s 1500m final in 4:08.94.<\/p>\n

The field was bunched together with 1200m left. Kipyegon then started to create separation. She led into the final straight with compatriot Hellen Obiri close behind. But while Kipyegon powered to the gold medal, Obiri faded badly to finish in 6th place. .Obiri’s performance has been waning badly after she started the season with a bang in Doha followed by a famous win over Abeba Aregawi in Oregon.<\/p>\n
