A second half rally saw Alliance High School end a ten year wait for the Prescott Cup, overhauling a 14-15 half time deficit to defeat Rift Valley Academy 26-23 in an exciting final played at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 6 July.

It was Alliance who went ahead when Alex Olaba went over the line after dominating the early exchanges with Longinus Odhiambo converting for a 7-0 lead.

RVA's response was immediate, Jacob Fulks barging over the line from a quickly taken penalty that arose from an Alliance infringement. Aaron Brubeck was sure with the conversion, leveling the scores at 7-7.

RVA would grow in stature, taking charge of the game and went 12-7 up when eighth man Drew Knight went over. Brubeck's penalty put them 15-7 up but Alliance were still in it, scoring at the stroke of half time when James Gitahi danced his way to the try line with Odhiambo converting for a 15-14 score.

RVA were quick off the blocks on resumption, Brubeck stroking home another penalty for 18-14 before Knight landed his brace, his try at the corner seeing them go 23-14 up and at this point of the game it seemed as though the boys from Kijabe were on the way to gathering their first Prescott Cup title since 1990.

Alliance were having none of this, staying very much alive and indeed narrowed the scores through Keith Gongole's try, the scores now 23-19. Alex Olaba scored the match winner, his second try of the game converted by Odhiambo with ten minutes left on the ticker handing Bush their second Prescott Cup title ten years after their maiden win in 2003.

Strathmore edged Ofafa Jericho 10-7 to finish third overall.
