| The UAE signed off from the Emirates Airline Cup of Nations with a
much improved performance but were unable to get the win they wanted as
Kenya eased to a 55-12 victory. Vincent Ongera and Allan Omuka each scored two tries for the Africans, who crossed the line a further five times, through Kevin Umbuge, Ronnie Mwenesi, Kelvin Omiyo, Anthony Nyandigisi and David Ambunya. Trailing 29-0 at half-time, the home side responded with two scores of their own in the second 40 as No8 Ali Thompson, and skipper Dan Heal got on the scoresheet. Thompson’s try came at a time when the UAE were down to 14 men, after Mike Riley was shown a yellow card in the 36th minute.
