This despite shoddy preparations and the shame of having to borrow a uniform for their second match. In this picture is John Macharia  Harambee Stars fans who had suffered humiliation after humiliation for many years, finally had something to celebrate when Kenya won the 2013 CECAFA cup  Allan Wanga (11) was a 2 goal hero as Kenya beat Sudan 2-0 to win the 2013 CECAFA senior challenge cup  In 2013, the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos was refirbished in time to host the CECAFA cup. This particular match however was moved to Nyayo stadium after a torrential downpour rendered the Machakos field unplayable  In 2013, Upper Hill (in white) beat Kathungi of Eastern in the national schools final  Defender David Owino (15) had a knack for scoring crucial goals such as this one he scored against Nambia in the last 2014 world cup qualifier. Malawi had earlier held Kenya to a scoreless draw in the first leg match at Kasarani  Mulinge Munandi playing at left full back has a busy day containing Obi Mikel and the rest of team Nigeria when Kenya forced a 1-1 draw in Calabar during the 2014 world cup qualifiers. Behind them is Victor Wanyama  David Owino, playing at right full back was kept busy all day keeping tabs on Nigeria's Chelsea based winger, Victor Moses.
