In 2013, the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos was refirbished in time to host the CECAFA cup. This particular match however was moved to Nyayo stadium after a torrential downpour rendered the Machakos field unplayable

David Owino, playing at right full back was kept busy all day keeping tabs on Nigeria's Chelsea based winger, Victor Moses. Owino acquited himself well in this task and earned rave reviews

When Kenya arrived in Calabar, Eastern Nigeria, they were denied decent training facilties and had to train by running around the classrooms at Oshodi primary school. They had also been denied decent accomodation, transport and security

Anthony Origi, son of Kenya legend Austin Oduor, one of the few bright spots in Harambee stars during the early teen years. In a 2011 AFCON qualifier against Uganda in Kampala, he pulled off a series of breathtaking saves to deny Uganda a chance to qualify for AFCON




Stars before the AFCON 2012 qualifier against Togo. They beat Togo 2-1 but the away goal Togo scored proved crucial


Togo beat Kenya on goal aggregate after winning the return leg 1-0 thus qualifying for AFCON 2013. Coach Kimanzi was shown the door


Macdonald Mariga and Kenya denied Uganda a chance to qualify for AFCON 2012 by forcing them to a 0-0 draw in Kampala leaving the packed Namboole stadium in deep depression
