The spread of school rugby has improved the quality and standard of the game. As a result, Kenya has had unprecedented success in sevens in the last few years.

However, you have to be careful when comparing VII aside and XV aside. Most of the rugby that was played in the 70s and 80s was fifteens. The vast improvement of rugby in Kenya has been in sevens and the fifteens game has largely remained unchanged despite the influx of talent from the upcountry schools.

BTW, ken kanyi was in Lenana not Patch
